Tallassee Fire Department is a combination department providing coverage to a district that, including the City of Tallassee, is over 46 square miles with a population of roughly 10,000. We operate in both Tallapoosa and Elmore Counties out of three stations with our fire district being roughly divided by the Tallapoosa River. We profice fire suppression services, hazmat response and special rescue services. Our equipment includes: 4 Engines, 2 Tankers, 1 Brush Unit 1 110' Platform, 1 Heavy Rescue; our Special Hazards and Operatons Team operates: 1 Water Rescue Truck, 1 Zodiac Rescue Boat, and 1 Special Opeations Trailer. We provide coverage to 3 public schools, 1 private school, 2 hydroelectric facilities and 2 500,000 sqft industries in addition to numerous smaller industries. Also, we recently completed the first phase of a full service training facility including: 2 burn rooms, a six-sory tower, a maze area and numerous other training props. A Classroom and other props will be added as a part of phase 2 of the center.
